Cart Page Offers That Close Bigger Deals

Four Smart Offers tactics for the cart page, where customers are already buying - free gifts, next-visit store credit, bundles and related upgrades.

The best time to sell more is when the customer already has their card in hand. They have decided to buy, and a good deal now is easy to say yes to. That makes the cart and checkout pages your best place for an offer.

Show any of these on the cart or checkout page with Show Offer on Page.

Free gifts

A free gift wins loyalty. The customer is already buying, so a relevant gift on the cart page is an easy yes. A variation: offer another product with a gift attached, like “Buy Offer Your Price and get a mystery gift.”

Free, mystery and gift together are hard to resist.

Next-visit offers

Give customers a reason to come back. If Sarah’s order is worth $1,500, offer her a $350 store credit coupon at checkout, sent when the order is placed and good on any future purchase. She is happy with the credit, and she comes back to spend it.

Attach the coupon with the offer’s accept actions.

Bundles

A bundle on the cart page gives much more value for a little more spend, and customers know bundles cost less than the same items bought one by one. If Ted is buying Offer Your Price alone, offer it bundled with other products at a discount.

  • If the customer has the free or “lite” version of a product, offer the full version at a discount.
  • If they are buying a shirt, offer shoes to complete the look.
