How to Validate License Key and Enable Auto Updates
It is necessary to validate your license key in order to receive regular updates for the product you purchased from StoreApps.
You will find the License key for the plugin you’ve purchased by going My Account page on StoreApps. In order to receive regular updates, validating License Key is must.
Locating & Validating License Key
- Login to My Account area and go to Downloads tab.
- Locate the license key for the plugin you purchased
- Copy that License Key
- Now go to WordPress Dashboard -> Plugins.
- Locate the plugin & next to it you will see a red box to enter license key. Paste the value of License key there & click on validate button.
- That’s it!
Now, you will see a notification message on plugins page about new version whenever a new version of the plugin is released.
How to Enable Auto Updates
You will be notified on plugins page, whenever there is new version of plugin available.
If you have validated license key successfully on Plugins page, then you would just need to click on Update Now button to update plugin to the latest version.
If you have not validated license key on Plugins page, then automatic update would be unavailable for you and you would need to manually update plugin to the latest version.
So we recommend that you validate license key as soon as you install & activate plugin.
Troubleshooting – Common Problems
Sometimes, even after successful validation, you are notified that please update your plugin to latest version even though you are using latest version. Or you don’t see an update link to update plugin to the latest version.
In that case, go to WordPress Dashboard -> Plugins. Locate the plugin & next to it you will see a Reset License key link. Click on it to reset your license. Refresh that page and then re-validate your license key. Check if the issue goes away.
