Creating a new Smart Offer – Step 4 of 6 – When to show this offer

Step 4 : Add the rules for the offer to be visible

This section lets you define cart based rules, user based rules as well as schedule your offer. You can add one or more rules. If you add multiple rules, then Smart Offers will perform AND operation i.e. offer will be shown only if all the rules are satisfied.

Cart/Order based rules

It lets you add cart/order based rules such that you can show the offer based on what’s in the cart/order, what’s the cart/order total, also based on the category based products in the cart/order etc.

  1. Which product/products does Cart/Order contains : This rule will let you show offer depending upon which products are present in the cart or order. Additionally, it also allows you to set quantity for the product present in the cart allowing you to do BOGO (Buy One Get One) offers.
    For example,
    (A) Imagine you want to offer Product C if cart contains both Product A and Product B. Add the rule “Cart/Order Contains Product A and Product B”. The offer will come up if cart contains both the products.
    (B) Suppose a customer has added 2 or more Albums in the cart, then you can show him a upsell offer where you can offer another album at discounted price
    When to show this offer
    (C) Imagine you want offer a Happy Ninja T-shirt if there are 3 or less T-shirt’s in the customer’s cart, then set this rule where you can offer another T-shirt at a discounted price
    When to show this offer
    Note : This rule performs AND operation i.e. if you add multiple products in this rule, then Smart Offers will check if all the products are present in the cart or not. Smart Offers will not check for one of the product present in the cart.
  2. When Cart/Order doesn’t contain product/s : This rule will let you offer depending upon which product/products aren’t present in the cart or order.
    Imagine you want to upsell Wireless Optical Mouse only if it’s not present in the cart. Then add rule “Cart/Order Does not contains product Wireless Optical Mouse”. The offer will show up if Wireless Optical Mouse is not already present in the cartWhen to show this offer
    Note : This rule performs AND operation i.e. if you add multiple products in this rule Smart Offers will check if all the products aren’t present in the cart. Smart Offers will not check for one of the product present in the cart.
  3. What’s Cart/Order Subtotal : This rule will allow you to show offer if the cart or order subtotal is more than or equal to X amount

    Or if cart or order subtotal is less than or equal to X amount

  4. What’s Cart/Order Total : This rule will allow you to show offer if the cart or order grand total is more than or equal to X amount

  5. Which category based products does Cart/Order contains : This rule will allow you to show offer if the cart or order contains products from a specific category and also subtotal of products from that category is more than or more than X amount

  6. Which category based products, Cart/Order doesn’t contains: This rule will allow you to show offer if the cart or order doesn’t contains products from a specific category

User based rules

It lets you add rules based on what your customer has bought and not bought from you, based on how much customer has spent previously, whether user is a visitor or registered, based on different user roles and since how long he/she has been your customer.

  1. Which product/products user has purchased from you : This rule will check which all product/s customer has purchased from you.
    Imagine you want to offer Product C to customer who has previously bought Product A AND Product B. Then just add Product A and Product B in this rule and offer will show only to those customers who has purchased both Product A and Product B
    When to show this offer
    This rule should be used on Order Complete Page, where you are offering customer an upsell after they have just purchased a product from your store. But for this rule to work correctly, user should have an account on your store and also atleast one previous order in completed status.
    Note : If you add more than one product in this rule, then it will check whether customer has purchased all the products mentioned. i.e. it does AND operation.
  2. Which product/products user has not purchased from you : This rule will check which all product/products customer has not purchased from you.
    Imagine you want to offer Product C to customer who has not bought Product A AND Product B. Then just add Product A AND Product B in this rule and offer will show only to those customers who has NOT purchased Product A AND Product B
    When to show this offer
    This rule should be used on Order Complete Page, where you are offering customer an upsell after they have just purchased a product from your store.
    Note : This rule does AND operation.
  3. What type of User is :This rule will let you show offer to the user depending whether a user is a registered user or a visitor

  4. User Role based : This rule will allow you to show offer to a specific user role.
    Imagine if you want to give offer to your Shop Manager and not to any other user roles, then just add this rule “User Is a Shop Manager”.

  5. User Is Not From Role : This rule will allow you to show offer to all but not to a specific user role.
    Imagine if you want to give offer to all user roles except to Shop Manager user role, then just add this rule “User Is Not a Shop Manager”.

  6. How long user is registered with you : This rule will allow you to show offer to the user based on how long the user is registered with you.
    Suppose you want to offer only those customers who are registered with you for more than a year. Then just add this rule “User is Registered for More than 1 Year”.When to show this offer
  7. How much user has spent till date with you : This rule will let you show offer depending upon the amount the customer has spent till date on your store.
    Suppose you wish you to offer only those customer who has spent more than or equal to $500 with you till date. Then add the rule “User Has previously Purchased more than or equal to”
    When to show this offer
    Similarly, show offer only to those offers who has spent less than or equal to $500 with you till date. Then add the rule “User Has previously Purchased less than or equal to”

Offer Valid Between

It allows you to show time limited offers to your customers.
For example, Set start date and end date for the offers so that the offer is shown during the scheduled period
