WooCommerce – How to Set Up a Buy 3 Get 1, Buy 5 Get 1 Offer

If you have set up a buy 2 get 1 free offer in WooCommerce, you can easily set up buy 3 get 1, buy 5 get 1 and other buy more get one offer combinations.

The trick is to keep the discounts limited to certain products and increase their sales. You can’t run a buy 1 get 1 free iPhone deal!!

How to set up a buy 3 get 1 free offer?

This deal works by giving customers an extra product for free when they purchase three of the same or specified products, or products from a particular category. This is especially useful for online stores selling fashion items and FMCGs.

For example:

  • Buy 3 lipsticks and get 1 free

In this case, we do not want to offer the product for free, but at 50% off. Repeat the same above steps, except for:

For example, on purchase of three soaps, you want to offer a shampoo. Again the same steps, with the following exceptions:

Here, there can be any three products from the same category and the free product (fixed) would be from a different category.

Set the rules with some exceptions:

  • Under the Product category, select ‘Clothing’.
  • Under Validate quantity of, select the Product option. Your product category will show up automatically. Set the quantity as 3.

How to set up a buy 5 get 1 free offer?

Like buy 3 get 1, you can follow the same steps to create a buy 5 get 1 free offer and various combinations.

For example, consider we want to offer a watch for free on purchase of any five products from the clothing category.

  • Go to your WordPress Admin panel > Marketing > Coupons > Add coupon.
  • Under the General tab, select Discount type as Fixed cart discount. Since we are offering the product for free, set the coupon amount as ‘0’.
  • Tick the Auto apply checkbox to apply the coupon automatically.
  • Now click on the ‘Usage Restriction’ tab and under the Product category, search and enter Clothing.
