After adding products to your WooCommerce store, you can organize them better by assigning categories/sub-categories to them.

Using default WooCommerce, assigning categories to hundreds and thousands of products is a nightmare. Because you need to go to each product and do it.

But with Smart Manager, you can assign or remove categories to hundreds of products listed on your store in bulk within minutes.

Let’s understand it step by step.

How can you bulk assign product categories with Smart Manager?

  • Go to WordPress admin > Smart Manager
  • Select the post type “Products” from the drop down
  • Select the products you want to edit.
  • Click on ‘Bulk edit’.
  • Select ‘Categories’ in the first drop-down. You can even select ‘Categories: {Parent Category Name}‘ in the first drop down which would limit the categories list to only its child categories.
  • Select action as ‘set to’, ‘add to’ or ‘remove from’ in the second drop-down as per your intention of the edit.
Note – Choosing ‘set to’ action would completely replace the categories already assigned to the selected product with the one that is selected.
  • Select the category in the third drop-down list.
  • Click on ‘Update’.

As per your action, the selected products will be assigned or removed from the chosen categories.
